Real Good Strategy was born from the friendship and shared vision of Aja Smith and Brooke Currence. As friends and former colleagues, they recognized a gap in how corporations and nonprofits could collaborate to realize monumental social impact.

Aja saw the potential in the revenue power of big brands but realized they needed to show real impact beyond PR. Brooke understood the untapped resources in nonprofits that could be accessed through strategic partnerships with corporations.

Together, they created Real Good Strategy to combine their unique expertise, aiming for a paradigm shift in how nonprofits and corporations work together, moving our generation forward on social justice and innovative change.

Aja Smith

Aja’s rise to Vice President of Brand Strategy at Ebony Magazine was in part due to her 12 years of leadership and success executing advertising & marketing campaigns for top brands such as Nike, Mastercard, Coca Cola.

Aja is a recognized, award winning, and passionate leader in advancing racial justice through media, driving initiatives of pay equity with brand partnerships, employment opportunities for creators of color, and amplification of authentic black stories and visionaries.

Aja leads creative and production at Real Good Strategy.

Brooke Currence

Brooke brings 15 years experience in social impact marketing, most recently serving as the Senior Vice President of Marketing and Business Development at Give Lively, a New York tech startup powering progressive nonprofits.  Brooke is an alumni of Harvard Kennedy School’s Executive Leadership Narrative program, Globalizing Gender Studies at NYU, and Business Marketing at University of Georgia.

Brooke has a strong passion and expertise in expanding the work of social impact globally. She has worked closely with thousands of organizations in the US and abroad including Center for Reproductive Rights, The Met Opera, TransLash, Hitachi Social Innovation, and the Women’s March.
